The van is packed and we are ready to hit the road... at 3:30pm, rather than the 9:30am that we had planned. Oh well.

We spent our first night at an RV park in Baker City, which is about 6 hours east of home. It was 26 degrees when we woke up, but our van has a furnace and we warmed up quickly!
Steam Punk Factory in Eastern Oregon
We're not sure what this factory is really for... but it looked like something out of a science fiction dystopia. It was busily cranking out steam in the middle of the rolling hills of eastern Oregon.
Breakfast at Goldy's in Boise, ID!
For those of you who don't know (and I feel sorry for you), Goldy's is an EXCELLENT breakfast restaurant in Boise. Be sure to eat there if you get the chance.

Our good friend, Suzie DuVal, is the drama teacher at Jordan High School in Sandy, UT. They happened to be doing a dress rehearsal of Good News! on the day that we were passing through... so we got to watch an exclusive production!

John and Linda Taylor
We got to spend our 3rd night on the road with some HP friends in Orem, Utah. We all worked together in the late 90's. John left HP in the mid 2000's and became Dr. Taylor and then had another career at BYU.

The van top is up for a tour... they did not make us sleep in the van, but let us use their lovely guest room - with a super comfortable bed and an excellent shower. Bliss!
