We had the pleasure of welcoming the De Martel's to Lyon on July 4th. It was an oppressively hot day, but we ventured outside with Emmanuel and Laetitia while Catherine had important meetings (something about HEPatitis!). We went to the Parc de la Tête d'or ("Park of the Golden Head"), a large urban park about a 10 minute walk north of our apartment. The park features a lake, four rose gardens, several huge greenhouses, a botanical garden, a zoo and a velodrome. The zoo is completely free and has giraffes, elephants, deer, reptiles, primates, and other animals.
