Paris - June 5th to 8th

Our first stop in France was in Paris (as it should be!). We stayed with Barbara and her daughter Agathe in the 15th Arrondissement. We explored some new parts of Paris (for us) and did a LOT of walking. First up was the Musée Jacquemart-Andre, a private collection of art in what used to be a private home (which as all been donated to the Institut de France).

Apparently Madame Jacquemart and Monsieur Andre traveled frequently to Venice to purchase art of all kinds... which the Italians eventually got tired of.

Notre Dame still looks beautiful, despite the recent fire that destroyed much of the inside as well as the Spire. You can't get closer than across the river now. Security everywhere. The rebuilding has already begun.

Possible Violent Winds!
We visited the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens. The warning sign was very appropriate - we had some serious winds while we were in Paris! There was debris (small branches, garbage, etc) everywhere.
